Michael Townsend – June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month. This special month illustrates the importance of fruits and vegetables in our diets. Not only do fruits and vegetables provide health benefits, but they can prevent many serious diseases. It is recommended that children eat 3-5 servings of vegetables and 2-4 servings of fruit each day. Younger children should have 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit each day. To help your kids become friendly with fruit and voracious with vegetables, herewith listed links to some really fun coloring pages.

Don’t you think that “3-5 servings of vegetables and 2-4 servings of fruit each day” is a bit much? I know we were taught in school that one serving of either fruits or fresh vegetables a day would do. After all, the saying says “ONE apple a day keeps the doctor away”!
