In some crowded cities, we may notice perhaps that pedestrian safety signs admonishing cyclists have been cropping up across the city at a noticeable clip. It seems everywhere you look there’s a new safety signs urging cyclists to dismount, slow down, or ditches their bikes entirely. Probably, there are nearly a dozen new safety signs in quick secession on the waterfront leading to some areas in your place. The question is do such signs work? Rarely have you seen a cyclist abide by a dismount sign, though that’s not to say they don’t guilt riders into somewhat safer cycling habits. Certainly, we must feel compelled to at least slow down when passing such signs. However, there are also plenty of riders chaffing at the new signs. Well, everyone is bound to observe such signs regardless of who and what you are, of course for everybody’s welfare.
